The Wigornia String Quartet was formed in 1997 by a group of professional musicians and has since had great success across the Midlands playing for numerous wedding ceremonies, receptions, charity events, business functions, and private parties as well as backing tracks for commercial artists. We pride our selves in offering a wide choice of music from the 1700's to the present day, so there is sure to be a style to and programme to suit your occasion. We perform popular classical pieces by composers such as Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Elgar as well as lighter numbers by composers such as Gershwin and Scott Joplin, and more modern options - music from shows, films and the Beatles, to name but a few.
The Quartet play regularly at such venues as Dumbleton Hall (Evesham), Studley Castle, The Elms at Abberley, The Manor House Hotel (Moreton in Marsh) and The Hyatt Hotel (Birmingham). Recent social engagements have included playing for the Duchess of Gloucester, a lunchtime recital for the Three Choirs Festival, an Elgar School of Music event celebrating the 250 anniversary of Mozart's birth, and a charity event for the Graham Hick 100 Club.
